More history....

In 1896, George Jack shifted his first building, in doing so founded the oldest building removal company still in operation in New Zealand today.

George Jack's son, Vic Jack started working for his father in 1928 and took over the helm in the 1930s.

In turn his sons, Des and Neville started with the company after each left school in 1957 and 1961 respectifully. They purchased the the business in 1967 and are still involved with the business daily.  Des is still a Director within the company and Aaron (Des' son, so the fourth generation) is now a Director also.  On occassion (mainly school holidays) our fifth generation of JACK works with us as well.
Over its life the company has been responsible for some of the main advancements in the building removal industry now in common practice throughout Australasia. These include the invention of the hydraulic house lifting jacks developed in 1948 and the hydraulic lifting house trailer complete with steering bogeys at each end in 1959/60. Another initiative has been the hydraulically operated sliding turntable.
